How long does it take to open?
Timelines vary by lease, fit-out and local approvals. Typical projects move from site approval to opening in a few months with Dawat support.
Is training included?
Yes, full training is provided. This includes kitchen and front-of-house training, plus marketing and operations support before and after launch. We hold training days at our head office (theory and practical) and our franchising team will provide support during branch opening. Experienced team members will also deliver branch-level training at your store during the initial launch period.
Do you help with marketing?
Digital marketing is carried out by head office as part of the franchise agreement. We encourage franchisees to engage in local marketing activities and Dawat HQ will provide launch plans, asset packs and ongoing guidance for promotional activities and delivery platform best practices.
Which models are available now?
Dawat currently has two franchise models on offer:
- Full-Service Restaurant with full Dawat menu for branches over 2,000 sq ft
- Express (Takeaway-Led) models for branches between 1,000 – 2,000 sq ft. Express stores will feature a more limited menu featuring Dawat’s most popular dishes and seating for around 30 customers.
What territories are available?
We receive franchise enquiries on a daily basis therefore core, high footfall areas are in great demand and this list changes regularly.
We recommend you contact our team with details of the area you wish to open and any existing premises you have in mind. We will then assess the availability and suitability and let you know if the preferred territory is a viable option.
Can I own multiple units?
Yes, Dawat is happy to support multi-site operators if they are able to adhere to the strict standards and have a proven track record with their existing branch.
Do you need to have a restaurant background?
Whilst it is beneficial to have a restaurant / hospitality background, it is not a requirement to open a Dawat franchise as we will provide the full training required.
Can I have a business partner?
You are able to have multiple partners in one of our franchises as long as everyone meets the required standards to become a franchisee.
Is my investment safe with Dawat?
As with all businesses there is a risk of financial loss. That being said, Dawat is a multi-award-winning brand which is accredited by The British Franchise Association and Quality Franchise association meaning you have all the training, support and compliance protocols in place to help your business be a successful one.
Can I be a silent partner?
Whilst Dawat does not officially offer shares we may be able to introduce you to someone who wishes to open and run a franchise but needs additional financial support. This will be between the investor and franchisee and have no involvement from the Dawat Group.
How do I know someone will not open a branch right next to me?
Dawat assigns territories to each franchisee ensuring there is a minimum of 2/3 miles between branches.
Does Dawat provide financing options?
Dawat does not provide direct financing. However, we have arranged specialist franchise finance terms with some of the UK’s leading banks and lenders. We have also negotiated preferential terms with several of our recommended equipment suppliers to help reduce franchisee set-up costs (subject to lender criteria and status).
Can I choose my own premises?
Yes, as long as it meets all relevant health & safety and building regulations and is approved by our franchising team. If you need help finding a suitable location, we work with commercial property specialists who can help you identify and secure the right site.
Can I use my own builders and architects?
Yes, you can use your own team provided all designs meet regulatory requirements and are signed off by the Dawat franchising team. We can also recommend experienced architects, interior designers and contractors who know our standards and can design and fit out a store to Dawat’s high specifications.
Do you offer a turnkey solution?
Dawat does not currently offer a formal turnkey package, but we are open to providing this on a project-by-project basis. In all cases, we will supply the contacts you need to get your store up and running, even if you have no experience opening a restaurant or fitting out commercial premises. Our dedicated franchise team is always on hand, so you will have advice and support throughout your franchising journey.
